The Glencoe Red Raspberry (Rubus occidentalis 'Caroline') is an deciduous upright (no trellis needed) is a primocane red raspberry shrub. Glencoe is easy to grow plant. This incredible raspberry has spine-free canes which are easy to manage. The growth habit is bushy and less vigorous than most red raspberries, which are ideal traits for the homeowner market. The fruit has a lovely intense flavor that is enjoyed fresh or used for wines, sauces, and preserves. Glencoe can also be grown in containers where they will stay even smaller and can be cut back to remain at the perfect container-growing size. Berries are dark red to purple and have a tangy-sweet, rich raspberry taste.

Pollination: Self-fertile, plant more than one to maximize fruit production. 

Harvest time: June - September Glencoe Raspberries ripen in stages as the plants produce blooms and develop berries, it's best to harvest the ripe raspberries twice or more a week. Pick the darkest berries by hand. Ripe Glencoe Raspberries will pull from the stems without crushing or tearing at the tops. Be sure to also remove and discard any overripe berries that are still on the canes as you pick. 

Plant in full sun to partial shade, in well drained nutrient-rich soil.
